Deer Have Such Weak Stomachs...

Benjamin... well, I confess I've been feeding them shelled corn. As I've said before, I don't normally feed them, but last winter and this have been totally brutal here, laying down a thick layer of ice, then two feet of snow, so there just is nothing for them to eat.
As I've said, never start naming your deer. This winter one of the does must have gotten hit by a car, and her leg healed poorly, so it's shorter and less stable than the others and she can't get around well; she comes by and eats and eats until I think she'll burst. I guess my other choice would be to close the curtains.
