When You Get What You Wish For

So you think it would be great if a lot of neat, hard to grow plants like trilliums would multiply and spread all over your garden... and then one day they do. Have you considered what you'll do when the trilliums start mugging your yellow ladyslippers? Have you ever actually weeded out a trillium? I thought not. Getting what you wish for in the garden is not always what it's cracked up to be.

As they say, be careful what you wish for. :) It's a lovely looking plant, though.

In the woods, we found narrow-leafed toad trilliums as well as wide-leafed ones. I'll be watching my plants... but did you read about my mutant? ;-)

Getting what you wish for is dangerous. I wished for lots of lily of the valley....and got it. Last fall I was tearing it out of the lawn, out of the cracks in the patio bricks and out of the neighbors yard.

Nancy... I'll have to admit, things might just be a little out of control.
Shady... I didn't; I'll be over to look it up... thanks.
Babs... I banned lily of the valley from this garden.
Don

I'll come help you out. I need to do something meticulous and mind numbing and back breaking and....

I should have such a dilemma!
