Anemonella; Pretty In Pink

Anemonella thalictroides 'Cameo', a double pink form of our native rue anemone is just a real cutie pie. Walking the woods around here in spring, I'm always impressed by the variation seen in the tens of thousands of rue anemones; but I've certainly seen no double pinks.

I have a similar double Anemonella, but the one I really want is 'Oscar Shoaf.' The color of that one is more like the dark pink of my single Anemonella 'Rosea.' Actually, I just want them all.

MMD... Shoaf's is one I want, too. Maybe next spring!

I just Googled Oscar Shoaf anemonella... interesting story. And it's native, not a hybrid. :-)

Shady... Linc Foster tells that story in his book Cuttings From A Rock Garden; you're right, it's an interesting story.
