New Baby

Acer palmatum Mikawa Yatsubusa is a Japanese maple new to our garden this year, with very tightly layered five pointed leaves, eventually hopefully forming a dense mound six feet tall and wide. It's coloration in fall is quite something... I think I'm going to like this one!

That is VERY unusual. Just beautiful! Are you still working with all those bags of dirt???

I think the ground is going to freeze up later this week, and that will be it until next year... we'll see.

Oh how I envy you! Just a few miles south and you can grow those beautiful Japanese Maples, I am so so so jealous. :) Beautiful photo.

I bought one of these this year, too!! I posted a picture of some of its leaves in my Japanese Maple post. I think I'm going to like its unusual leaf clustering form.
