There is a native wild ginger which grows in Georgia I believe that has spectacular (for a Asarum) brown, maroon, white flowers. I can't find the name right now but I tried to search for it online and came up with nothing.

Your gingers have very interesting blooms. I just have the plain old A. canadense. :(
 
ki... you're thinking of A. shuttleworthii. I have it in the garden, and it's a beaut!
