Looking downstream, you have a nice view of the Iowa River below the dam; eagles are often seen in the trees to the left. Posted by Picasa

Nice series of pictures... and you have me craving one of those great, juicy hamburgers that you can only find at dive bars now! About the eagles, do they nest there?

Kim... the eagles nest further up the lake, where it's much more isolated. The lakeshore along the woodland preserve where I'm working is really quite protected, and there are a couple of eagle's nests there.

Lucky you, Don. You might have some interesting eagle viewing when they nest in the spring! :)

Kim... it's quite amazing how many eagles there are around here (we're on a tributary of the Mississip). Now they also are getting ospreys to nest here... they are really cool!
