Wow... one is prettier than the next! I think that "Thunder" is my favorite, though. I like the veining in its leaves. Do you have a favorite among them?
 
blackswamp... well, I'd vote for Thunder, too. It's flowers are pretty dark purple, so it's quite a sight in spring.

Don, would that be a good choice for my zone?
The front of my house faces north, in Zone 5...
is that one of those huge guys that would cover the windows?
 
Sissy... I'm also z5, and it does fine here. it's a P.J.M. cultivar, so as hardy as they get, and would love the north side of a house, as long as the soil isn't too alkaline from leaching from the foundation. Rhodys like acid, loose soil, moist but never water-logged. Raised beds are ideal, as long as they don't get too dry. Thunder tops out at maybe four feet.
