It's a beautiful, clear spring day... the garden is bursting with flowers and bright early spring foliage, so it's a good day for a garden walk.

I just bought my first house in October and wanted to learn more about flowers. I googled 'Iowa gardens' and found your blog which has given me a lot of great ideas. You have a GORGEOUS garden... or rather, gardens. The garden gargoyle is pretty impressive as well!
Nancy... we have three acres of woods, with one acre more or less, that I garden on... the rest is for the critters (the deer like to watch me digging).
Angie... glad you like the gargoyle (my wife is even starting to like him a little).

you have the touch my friend.....I am over here in Missouri and as I have told you never miss your blog....I have an area in the woods which I call my shade garden...ha.....it is just taking lots of work and I have to allow the "critters" their part of it..I spent the morning weeding etc., but my hostas do look nice....and the ferns are coming along.....Do you suppose the squirrels would eat every last bulb I might plant there? It is pretty shaded there in the summer so don't really know if bulbs would work.............
