The flowers of Petasites are now mature... in the warm sun, they have a very pronounced aroma of Ben Gay, with a slight musky undertone like Fritillaria imperialis. The whole pathway next to them is perfumed with this unique bouquet, which no visitor to our garden has ever correctly attributed to this plant.
