Wow, my Siberian Iris 'Caesar's Brother' is just showing green spears about 7" high. In fact, you're well ahead of my Massachusetts Zone 6A garden, not what I'd expect for anywhere in Iowa. We've had cloudier and cooler weather than average for the past month.

We've had the freakiest spring I've ever seen; more ups and downs than you can imagine, but we're still a good two weeks ahead of normal here. The lilacs are normally always in full bloom on Memorial day, and this year they started blooming in mid-April, and are already gone.
