Bad Hair Day?

There are some very nice plants that just don't look good in pictures; Fritillaria ussuriensis, an early April bloomer, is one of those. With its fly-away topnotch of leaves, and its somehow awkwardly hanging flowers which are in different stages of bloom, in photos it looks like it just got out of bed. It is native to China, and seldom seen in gardens. Ussuriensis is actually a cool plant; it will just never get a date on an internet website.
