I have a question for you! Have you ever heard of using an anti-desiccant, or anti-transpirant?

Shady... I've tried them in the past on elepedote rhododendrons, but they were such a mess trying to use them in the cold, I gave up. I have no idea how they'd work on little things like primroses; I'd worry they'd gunk up the leaves, plus every time it rains, you're out there spraying again. I'll see if I can find anything on it in this type of plant.
