One Of My New Charges

The meadow in Big Grove, the new preserve that I'm working on, is home to many wildflowers. This is Lobelia siphilitica, the great lobelia, with spikes of dark blue flowers, and up to three foot tall. Posted by Picasa

Girl... how tall do they get there? I've seen them up to five foot tall in rich, moist solil.

they seem to grow in shady wet places around here--I would say about 4 feet tall, maybe a bit taller
