Dunno What It Is, But It's Nice

Buying plants by mailorder can be interesting, as you're not always sure just what you have. I obtained this plant as Tricyrtis Ohsumiense, which one would think would therefore be Tricyrtis ohsumiensis, a nice Japanese species, and indeed the flowers resemble that variety, but ohsumiensis is only about ten inches tall. This variety is two feet tall, with very broad, shiny leaves, and is blooming already now in the second week of June, in spite of being in a quite shady spot... my first toady to bloom. Whatever it is, it's nice. Posted by Picasa

sorry. I didn't read under your photo.....of course you know what it is....

Lynne... I think it's just T. latifolia, mislabelled by the nursery (latifolia being the "early toad lily").
