Mmmmm... sunnnnn...

Your garden looks exactly the kind of daffodil heaven that I strive for :) Here in Finland there's still TWO months to go until they bloom.

The nice thing about daffodils, is that they just keep multiplying, like rabbits... I just bought one of each of most of mine, and now they're big clumps. Hold on Narcissa; spring WILL come!

You really do have a daffodil heaven! I wonder what I'm doing wrong, that mine aren't thriving and multiplying? If any do survive they are fewer than the ones I planted. And yet my tulips multiply as if they are in panic mode. I keep having to dig up the little wee bulbs so they have room to spread somewhere else (or compost them).

Sabine,
That IS odd! The only thing I can think of is that you may have an infestation of narcissus flies; you could try digging up some of the bulbs, after the foliage starts yellowing, and see if they are mushy and infested with grubs. This pest will cause daffodils to fade away, and not bloom.

Don, thank you for the information! I googled for narcissus fly. I'm pretty sure I've seen those in my garden. I will dig up some affected bulbs if there are any left this year and check them. I never even thought of insect damage being a possible factor.
