Amaryllis And Cat; The Silly Season
The dog days of summer, when it's so hot and sultry, that nobody moves about, and nothing happens, is called the silly season by news people; this is when desperation sets in for something to write about, and the papers drag out stories about sinkholes opening up in yards, and giant balls of string that old guys have been saving in their basements for twenty years. Late winter, I think is sort of the silly season for garden blogs; nothing much is happening yet in this year's garden, and all the pictures have already been recycled a couple of times from last year. This is when every other garden blogger puts up a picture of their amaryllis, and a few cat pictures. You'll have to admit, though, this is a pretty big amaryllis (and a cute cat).

I have just recently discovered blogs, garden blogs to be specific. Thank you for your writing, stories, pics. and of course gardening insights. Your blog has proven to be a fine way to start each day. Thank you again.
I've an amaryllis that is starting a bud. There are two in that pot, and one bloomed two years ago... or was it last year?
Anyway, it'll be interesting to see if the bloom is the same plant, or the other one...

Nevada... I'm very happy that you stop by, and enjoy the blog. We do have kind of a good time around our home and garden.
Jenn... well I've never seen an amaryllis I didn't like, so it's win-win.
