Although the garden itself still seems in the grasp of winter, if you stir the cold dark leaves, you find tiny flower buds of cyclamen coum, raising their aniline pink heads, like little serpents arising from the earth. They look far too fragile and inconsequential to provide any kind of show, but as the spring rains come, these little buds stand up by the hundreds, dotting the wooded ravines with little sparks of color.Posted by Picasa
