The Last Crocus

Posted by PicasaWinter Gardening in Iowa consists of reading garden catalogues and dreaming, but surprisingly, in milder years, I'll have at least a couple of stray flowers in bloom still in December, and then the snowdrops usually start blooming in February, though this last winter they opened their first blooms in January, so I had something blooming every month of the year... it wasn't like I'd invite people over for a garden tour on New Year's Day, but still it's something.
