Finally, we walk through the archway at the back of the garden and turn to look back over our shoulder one more time... if we now looked to our left, past the arch, there would be a shady path leading to a mysterious wooden gate that leads downhill to the large pond. If we looked right we'd see a long, grassy, winding path that leads along the edge of a ravine, and takes us on to more of the garden... that will have to wait for future meanderings.

Holy Sh-t, Don. Man. I hope I can work up to something like that in the coming years.
Inspirational.
I agree, too, on showing more wide-angle-y stuff. It's nice to have a sense of space, especially at your place.
Man!

I'm always torn between leaving the garden very dense and woodsy on the one hand, or taking out more underbrush to plant more flowers on the other hand. There is an acre of untouched woods on either side of the garden for the wildlife, so I feel like it's my call.

This winter, when you're bored (is there such a thing with you?) you can draw a map, to scale, with all the various gardens, ponds, and paths labeled. Wayne (of Niches) can give you lessons.
